Toastmaster, more than speaking in public

I have discovered during these past few months that being a toastmaster is a whole lot more than speaking in public, and one example of this was this session.
Our President Pilar started the meeting by explaining the unusual circumstances leading up to the session, and how with the toastmaster of the day, Celine, and the VPI, Robert, they managed to organize the meeting after cancellations and changes at the last minute. Despite this, the session was great and very inspirational, where we could all participate and, I think I can speak from all my fellows, we finished with our batteries full of energy.
Celine conducted the session with her habitual charming nature, being honest and explaining the Word of the day SERENITY, the quality or state of being serene, clear and calm. A word that Celine wanted to transmit in this session after a hard and difficult week because of different kind of matters she explained to us.
One night in Casablanca

Last session was like if we were in the movie of Casablanca, there were tears, laughs, music and so on.
All started “raising the curtains” (I liked that expression Prince) with our shining President, Pilar, who is capable to revive almost dead people after a long week (inspired in T. topic 2) with her energy and contagious smile. Followed by our toastmaster of the night, Cormac, who is able to calm a shacked orchestra (T.P 1) just before the entrance to the show. He followed his agenda meticulously, being aware that he had some impromptus.
Manipulation of mind, trust and perseverance.
With these three topics our speakers of the night inspired us very much.

Robert Ferrer, el VP de Educación, abrió la sesión y dando la bienvenida a todos, invito a los huéspedes de presentarse:
- James, un Alemán que ha crecido en los EEUU y luego ha trabajado por muchos partes del mundo. Ya conoce Toastmasters de otros países y entiende lo buen que lo serviría ahora que ha decidido instalarse en Barcelona para montar su propia consultaría en desarrollo de negocio internacional.
- Wala y Guillem son dos jóvenes de Barcelona que fueron elegidos por presentar discursos sobre sus logros en TEDx Youth Barcelona en Febrero 2013
- Gaizka fue muy interesado en la oportunidad de mejorar sus habilidades en Ingles y en Castellano.
- Sara fue presentada a un otro club Toastmasters por una compañera suya y ha decidido volver para probar el ambiente nuestro club por la opción bilingüe con la cual nos destacamos.
Nuestro toastmaster de la sesión fue Lluis Cona, un toastmaster muy fluido y una capacidad destacada de mantener la atención de los auditores. Lluis anuncio que se sentía "Oxidado" por no haber tenido este rol hace mucho tiempo, pero su actuación ha sido mejor y mas natural que nunca: Hablar en publico, como montar una bicicleta, nunca se olvida!!!

Today was my first session as a formal member of the BCN Pride Club.
After being a member in another Toastmasters club, and visiting the pride one, I have decided to sign in and continue with the journey of improving my public speaking skills- all of course in a supportive and friendly environment.

Sesión de lujo. No se me ocurre otra palabra para describir la sesión del pasado 22 de Noviembre. Además de ser una reunión de lo más especial –tuvo un formato diferente y participaron tres oradores avanzados en un “EDUCATIONAL MEETING”-, también pudimos ejercer nuestro derecho a voto en las elecciones para nombrar a los siguientes miembros del Comité, que nos representarán a partir del 1 de enero de 2013.
